Why it’s taken so long to get a Blog Post up…. + Mono?

Well y’all… I was planning on getting a consistent schedule going for blogging. I had a line up of blog posts that I was working on. However, these past two weeks I fell into a little bit of a funk. I couldn’t get myself to focus on blogging. I was either too tired or just didn’t have enough brain power or motivation to really get anything done. I kinda blamed it on what I thought was allergies… but then things got a little bit more…. “Interesting”.

I was officially diagnosed with mono yesterday. For the past 13 days, I’ve suffered from this awful sore throat, stuffy ears, swollen lymph nodes, and fatigue. I thought for sure they were allergies, because they were similar symptoms to what my allergies were like last year…. just without the stuffy / runny nose, sneezing, and coughing. I went to urgent care on Sunday after noticing white blotches on the back of my throat thinking it was strep. After a test, it came back negative and the doctor assumed it was just a virus, but possibly mono. It seemed as though I was on the healing track so I decided to not get the mono test. However, the sore throat got worse the next day and the past couple days have been filled with pure exhaustion. I’ve left work twice, because I just couldn’t function. Wednesday, I decided to leave work and go straight to urgent care to get tested. Sure enough, my test results came back positive yesterday.

I would like to apologize for my absence from blog posting and possibly having spread out blog postings. I am really hoping this mono clears up within the next couple weeks and I’ll be back to normal soon. Prayers please. I’ll be doing my best to post as much as I can, but please understand I can only focus and work so much.

Thank you for understanding. I’ll keep y’all updated as I go through this new, hopefully short-lived, journey. Love y’all.

xx Maddie
